Uganda Tourism Board and Emirates Renew Partnership to Unlock Tourism Potential

The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has renewed its strategic partnership with Emirates to promote Uganda as a leading tourism destination for 2025.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Adil Al Ghaith, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Centre, and Bradford Ochieng, UTB’s Acting CEO.

Since the initial MoU signing in 2024, Emirates and UTB have hosted familiarization trips for key trade partners, resulting in a 16% increase in passengers on the Dubai-Entebbe route.

The renewed partnership aims to further boost tourism arrivals, foster economic growth, and promote sustainable tourism.

“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Emirates,” said Bradford Ochieng. “This collaboration is a strong endorsement of Uganda’s growing appeal and an important step in boosting arrivals and promoting sustainable tourism.”

Adil Al Ghaith added, “We are pleased to renew our partnership with Uganda Tourism Board, reinforcing our commitment to the Pearl of Africa. We look forward to strengthening our relationship and introducing more international travelers to Uganda’s beauty and diversity.”

The partnership will see Emirates promote Uganda as a competitive tourist destination, while UTB will work closely with the airline to develop programs for trade partners and tour operators. Both partners will explore incentives and marketing initiatives to increase tourism bookings into Uganda.

This renewed partnership comes on the back of a record year for tourism in Uganda, with over 1.37 million international tourists visiting the country in 2024, a 7.7% increase compared to 2023.
