The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) recently hosted His Majesty, Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV, the King of Tooro Kingdom, at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The King embarked on a thrilling gorilla trekking adventure, observing various flora and fauna, and appreciating conservation efforts.
As part of his 25-year development plan, King Oyo aims to showcase Uganda’s natural treasures to the world, promoting tourism potential and attracting global attention.
He emphasized the importance of conservation and responsible tourism, urging Ugandans to appreciate and protect their natural heritage.
“Many people don’t know the value of nature… I urge you, especially Ugandans, to have retreats in these areas rather than traveling abroad and leaving our treasures behind,” he said.
UWA Executive Director Dr. James Musinguzi welcomed the King’s efforts, noting that it boosts Uganda’s tourism industry.
The King was awarded a certificate of gorilla tracking and gifted with a portrait of a silverback after his successful trek.
This visit follows the King’s previous trips to Rwenzori Mountains National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park, highlighting Uganda’s diverse tourism offerings.
