AIGP Wasswa David Ssengendo, Director of Counter Terrorism for the Uganda Police Force, recently participated in a Regional Joint Forum of Law Enforcement Officials and Religious Leaders in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The forum brought together representatives from all IGAD member countries, including law enforcement, media, religious sectors, and the diplomatic corps.
During the event, AIGP Ssengendo delivered a presentation on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE), sharing his expertise on the critical issue.
He also met with Commissioner General Demelash G. Michael of the Ethiopian Federal Police to discuss shared policing interests and potential areas of cooperation.
The Regional Joint Forum aimed to foster collaboration and coordination among law enforcement agencies, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to prevent and counter violent extremism in the region.
Hr stated that by sharing knowledge, best practices, and experiences, participants sought to strengthen community resilience and promote peace and stability.
