UWA Gets New Board of Trustees

Uganda Wildlife Authority has announced a new Board of Trustees.

The appointment of UWA’s 10th Board was made by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiques, Col Honorable Tom Butime in fulfillment of section 8 (2) of the Uganda Wildlife Act (2019).

According to the communication made by the communication and Public Relations manager Bashir Hangi, the trustees term of office came into effect on 01st/September/2023.

“Each member brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and a strong commitment to the conservation and protection of Uganda’s exceptional wildlife and natural heritage. With their diverse backgrounds, the Board will oversee the Management team to ensure the
sustainable management of our wildlife resources and promote responsible tourism practices inside protected areas in line with the Uganda Wildlife Act 2019.” Reads part of the statement.

The 10 member board is chaired by Prof. James Kalema who is deputized by Ms. Mariam Pamela Tukahirwa.
