UPDF has dismissed as fake the news that their Chief of Logistics and Engineering was arrested and detained by the military.
Reports earlier indicated that Brig Gen Charles Bakahumura had been picked by the officers from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence, something UPDF says is not true.
“This is to put it categorically, that the CLE is not under arrest. So it’s FAKE NEWS,” said Defence Spokesperson, Brig-Gen Felix Kulayigye.
On his part, Brig Gen Charles Bakahumura tweeted explaining: “I have just received many messages from friends and well-wishers from around the world asking me if it true that I have been arrested.”
“This is not true and I don’t know the intentions of the people who are writing and spreading such falsehoods. I guess it was out of malice.”
