Security Agencies On The Spot For Defaulting Water Bills

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has pinned Security Agencies for crippling its efforts to serve Ugandans better.

According to the Corporation Managing Director, Silver Mugisha, in the recent years, Security agencies are on the have defaulted water bills amounting up to 62.7 billion shillings.

Mugisha made this revelation while appearing before the Public Accounts Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) mid this week.

During the deliberations, it was revealed that during F/Y 2021/2022, the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Uganda Police Force, and Uganda Prison Services failed to pay their utilities of 27.5 billion; 23.4 billion, and 11.8 billion Shillings respectively.
