Mukono munincipality lawmaker Hon. Betty Nambooze Bakireke has joined hundreds of Ugandans demanding for the resignation of the FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo.
Speaking while appearing on Urban Television Rush Hour show, Nambooze described the continued stay of Magogo at FUFA House a gross impunity and mockery of justice.
She says the law of parliament doesn’t allow such since the activities and direct involvement in National team affairs would generate conflict of interest.
“How can Magogo, an MP be the head of a national football body? In Parliament, we have a code of conduct that prohibits us from engaging in activities that might bring about a conflict of interest. Eg as Nambooze I can’t build schools in Mukono because the moment I do so I would be competing against all schools in Mukono. Even in Parliament, the views I would submit would obviously be to the benefit of my schools but not all schools in the country. The same thing with Magogo. He will be using a National organisation, FUFA to advance the interests of his party, which is totally wrong but what can Ugandans do if he is the husband to the all powerful Deputy Speaker?” Nambooze wondered.
