Indian High Commission Celebrates 75th Independence Day In Kampala

The Indian High Commission has Celebrated 75th Independence Day of India at the High Commission of India in Kampala Uganda.

In this function Indian Association Uganda Handed over Ashok Chakra State Emblem of India to the Indian High Commissioner HE Ajay Kumar by The Chairman Mr.Mohan Rao Vice Chairman Mr.Ravi Patel General Secretary Mr.Vaheed Mohamed and the Treasurer Mr.Sadrudun Alani.

The Emblem is an adoption of the Lion Capital of Ashoka a statue from 280 BCE.

Regarding Return Resident back to India Due to covid restriction MOH made India is at NO 1 category.

It waa revealed that Most of the residents struck in India are the Key economic players and important technical staffs of leading industries in Uganda . And also some left their families and children at Uganda visited India for Business and other purpose also struggling to come back.

Numerous resquest made to foreign affairs and investment minister but still MOH not given clearance.

It is unfair because they are allowing Ugandans from India to Uganda but residents are not allowed we wonder what is the difference between nationals and residents.

These indian residence in uganda they don’t have own homes at india. They have home in uganda and we understand that All are human and Corona doesn’t know the Nationality.


So we are requesting MOH to relax the regulation fairly and support the economy of Uganda

Regarding Vaccination

Indian Association Uganda requested the government of India 300,000 Covid Vaccines to support the Vaccination Drive in Uganda .Request sent to the Government of India and the process of procurement is under process
