NRM Paints Nebbi District Yellow as Museveni’s Campaign Draws Massive Crowds

The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party turned Nebbi District into a sea of yellow on Friday as thousands of enthusiastic supporters gathered to welcome President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who was in the region to drum up support for the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The President, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman, was received by jubilant crowds waving party flags, singing campaign songs, and donning yellow attire — the official color of the movement. The rally, held at Nebbi Primary Grounds, was marked by chants of solidarity and promises of continued development under NRM leadership.

Addressing the gathering, President Museveni thanked the people of West Nile for their unwavering support over the years and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving livelihoods through infrastructure, education, healthcare, and wealth creation programs.

“The NRM’s mission has always been to secure the future of every Ugandan through peace, stability, and economic transformation. We are now focusing on wealth creation at the household level so that no family is left behind,” the President said.

The President highlighted the progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga initiatives, urging residents to take advantage of these programs to create sustainable income. He further assured the people of Nebbi that the government would continue upgrading road networks in the region to boost trade and connectivity.

Local leaders, including State Minister Hon. Phionah Nyamutooro hailed President Museveni for his leadership and the party’s transformative policies that have benefited the region.

Nyamutooro described the overwhelming turnout as “a clear sign that West Nile stands firmly with the NRM and President Museveni’s vision for Uganda.”

The day’s events also featured cultural performances, youth displays, and the commissioning of several community projects. By sunset, Nebbi Town remained visibly yellow with NRM flags flying high and chants of “Silent Majority” and “Protecting The Gains” echoing through the streets.
