Makerere University Invites Diploma Holders to Apply for Government-Sponsored Degree Programmes for 2026/2027

Makerere University has opened applications from diploma holders for admission to undergraduate degree programmes under the Government Sponsorship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scheme offers entry into selected degree courses, with diploma-entry seats not exceeding 5% of the intake capacity for eligible programmes.

Applicants must hold a Credit or Second Class (or equivalent) diploma in a relevant field from a recognised institution, as well as the required UCE and UACE passes.

A non-refundable application fee of UGX 55,000 is payable using an ACMIS reference number, and certified copies of academic transcripts and a birth certificate must accompany the application.

The deadline for submission of application forms and supporting documents is Friday, 27 February 2026.
