Kansiime Annah Declared Unopposed for Rwampara Woman MP Seat

The Electoral Commission has officially declared Kansiime Annah, a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), unopposed for the position of Woman Member of Parliament for Rwampara District following the withdrawal of all her competitors.

The development comes after Molly Asiimwe, who had been seeking to contest as an independent candidate, withdrew her candidature. Sources indicate that her decision followed consultations and discussions with Kansiime Annah, a process that was facilitated by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa.

In a related development, Sarah Kiconco, who had earlier picked nomination forms to contest for the same seat on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, also withdrew from the race and subsequently joined the NRM.

With no remaining challengers, the Electoral Commission confirmed that Kansiime Annah had met all the legal requirements and was therefore declared unopposed for the Rwampara District Woman MP seat.

The declaration paves the way for Kansiime Annah to retain the seat without a ballot contest, as political mobilization and preparations continue ahead of the general elections.
