Kasese District NRM Leaders Unite Ahead of General Elections

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has said that Kasese District is poised to become completely yellow by January.

This comment was made after a meeting that brought together political leaders and senior citizens from Kasese to chart a path for galvanising backing for the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Tayebwa said several strategies emerged from the discussions, all aimed at consolidating party unity and expanding its reach across the district.

“Today’s meeting reaffirmed the importance of reconciliation and unity among NRM members as the bedrock for achieving our shared goal,” Tayebwa stated. “Turn Kasese completely yellow from the LCIs to our presidential candidate because unity is how we win together.”

Among these leaders included Ministers kabyanga godfrey baluku, Hon. Wilson Mbadi and flagbearers Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga, Kambale Frigo, Dr Rude, Sarah Ithungu Baleke, Sowedi Kitanywa, Thembo Gideon Mujungu among others.

Participants emphasized grassroots engagement as a core component of the plan, focusing on dialogue with local communities, transparent communication, and coordinated efforts across party structures. Senior citizens represented a bridge between generations, underscoring the value of experience and continued civic participation in shaping the district’s political trajectory.

While specifics of the strategy will be rolled out in the coming weeks, officials indicated that activities will include targeted outreach at the village and parish levels, enhanced voter education initiatives, and a visible campaign presence across key constituencies within Kasese.

Observers say the district’s anticipated shift toward a unified yellow wave could energise the party base, encouraging both traditional supporters and new voters to participate actively in the upcoming electoral cycle.

Tayebwa noted that the effort aligns with a broader national objective: to strengthen party cohesion and bolster public confidence in the NRM as the vehicle for ongoing development and governance.
