Human Trafficking Bust: 51 Rescued in Nagalama Operation

In a daring operation, the territorial police at Nagalama have rescued 51 people from human trafficking.

The victims were being recruited by AIM GLOBAL ALLIANCE, a networking company in the Naggalama division, with promises of lucrative jobs.

According to police reports, the victims were conned into paying UGX 150,000 (approximately USD 40) for training, with promises of earning up to UGX 1,000,000 (approximately USD 270) depending on their recruitment and sales performance.

The scammers would then use the victims’ phones to recruit their friends and relatives, demanding UGX 1,500,000 (approximately USD 400) to purchase products for resale.

The operation, which took place on April 2, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, targeted several areas in Kalagi, including Kakola village, Kyabakadde parish, and Bbosa village.

Police found the victims, aged between 14 and 35, living in cramped conditions, with some rooms housing up to 20 people.

Two suspects, Kasule Zephaniah and Nantima Evelyn, have been arrested and detained at Nagalama Police Station. The police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to human trafficking.

The rescue operation is a significant blow to human trafficking syndicates operating in the region. The police have pledged to continue their efforts to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals.
