The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) continued its internal flagbearer campaigns in Northern Uganda with a joint rally in Amuru District on Saturday, where the party’s presidential hopefuls addressed delegates and members in a show of unity and healthy competition.
The candidates, who are vying to become the FDC’s presidential flagbearer in the upcoming elections, held a public meeting at Keyo Primary School playground in Lamogi Sub-county. The gathering drew party delegates, local leaders, and supporters from across the region.
According to a statement from the FDC, the joint campaign approach is aimed at promoting unity among party members, strengthening internal democracy, and serving as a mobilization tool to popularize the party’s mission.
“This joint campaign is a demonstration that we can engage in healthy competition while remaining united under one party,” the party stated.
The FDC emphasized that regardless of who wins the flagbearer race, the ultimate victory belongs to the party. “We believe that whoever emerges victorious between the two candidates is a win for the FDC. At the end of the day, it is the party that wins.”
The event in Amuru is part of a broader campaign tour in Northern Uganda, highlighting the FDC’s commitment to inclusivity, grassroots engagement, and democratic values.
