BUSOGA BELAIRE: Bugabula Chiefdom Celebrates Gabula Day

BUGABULA Budiope and Buzaya chiefdom has celebrated 21 years of William Gabula Nadiope IV as the Hereditary Chief (Gabula) of Bugabula BB Chiefdom.

Scientific celebrations of William Gabula Nadiope IV who is also the Kyabazinga of Busoga as Gabula of Bugabula BB chiefdom were held at Budhumbula Palace in Kamuli district.

The anniversary was graced by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East Africa Affairs Rebecca Kadaga, Busoga Kingdom’s Second deputy Katukiro Owek. Osman Noor Ahmed, Royal Chiefs, Ministers from OBB and clan heads among others.

During the event, the Kyabazinga of Busoga His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV revealed that he was installed as Gabula of Bugabula Chiefdom by the late HRH Henry Wako Muloki in 2002 when he was 11-years old.

He appreciated President Yoweri Museveni, the First deputy Prime Minister of Uganda Rebecca Kadaga, Royal Chiefs, Princesses in Busoga, political leaders from various districts, Salaamu Musumba, Bugabula BB executive led by Terwane Grace for the efforts they have put in to develop Bugabula Chiefdom and Busoga at large.

Gabula urged his subjects to continue growing food like Matooke, Sweet potatoes, Maize, Cassava, Rice, Ground nuts and Coffee among others which they will sell and get money in order to get out of poverty and improve their well-being.

The Kyabazinga urged his subjects to continue following SOPs like wearing masks, washing hands with soap and keeping social distance in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.The first deputy Prime Minister of Uganda Rebecca Kadaga said about 21m people in Uganda have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 and urged those who have not got the jab to go and be vaccinated.

Kadaga said the government is at the moment vaccinating teachers and will soon embark on vaccinating children.In her response to Busoga Kingdom’s second deputy Katukiro Owek.

Osman Noor Ahmed’s request of opening schools in Uganda, Kadaga said the government cannot dare open up schools adding that Ugandans will continue to wait for the government’s pronouncement on the matter.

Owek. Osman Noor Ahmed called upon parents to protect their girl child through sensitizing them about dangers of early pregnancies and engaging into early sex. He also requested Ugandans to go and be vaccinated against COVID-19.
