Uganda To Lose Billions Of Dollars In Illicit Gold Trade

In recent times, over 31 million metric tons of gold deposits were discovered in Uganda ,this was a great achievement  for the country that in return would  attract gold miners and investors thus to boost the nation’s economy.

This means that Uganda will be making over 12 trillion dollars, but this may not be possible because of the escalating illegitimate gold traders in the region.  Frahanz ddalu, Muhammed shahma,Tzumpi Fredrick,Nganwa sompson and Shaikh muzammil all Asian nationals based in Dubai have uninterruptedly involved themselves  in gold smuggling from Congo, extending their operations in East Africa together with notorious smugglers from Congo and rebel groups.

These smugglers finance and fuel continuous civil wars in Congo to gain minerals and enrich themselves. Like  many other smugglers such as shaikh abdul wasim(Arabian),sheik talal tahmid(Indian),kasongo Augustin(Congolese),and Richard newton(uk),these have financed smuggling having tremendous operations in Congo suburbs for instance  BENI ,GOMA and other parts of Congo, recruiting gold criminals to create stampedes in the Congo, so as to walk away with smuggled gold freely.

This wickedness has rewarded them with a lot after having over ten suppliers of illegal gold, creating a lot of suspicion. The question is why are these Indian nationals not buying legit gold from Ugandan government but rather unlawful gold traders from Congo who are wanted by the international criminal court for crimes against humanity in Congo, because of this, these Asians also supply smugglers with equipment to get cheap gold in return which cripples the national economy and the region at large.

It should be noted that six months ago, the African gold refinery was sanctioned by the criminal investigation agency (CIA) because of illegal gold trade. Investigations are still ongoing and security is working round the clock to capture these rebel groups in the region.
