Tourism Minister Hits ROKO Construction Over Delays And Shoddy Works

State minister for tourism wildlife and antiquities, Martin Bahinduka Mugarra expressed his dismay over the shoddy work and the delay it has taken Roko Construction company who are currently in charge of the construction Crested Crane hotel in Jinja which the Minister says have taken long.

Mugarra was In Jinja to visit the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Jinja.

While in Jinja Minister Mugarra inspected the work that has been done at Crested Crane Hotel before questioning the work that was done.

According to the contractors, the works are still going on in the matter and they are doing everything in their power to fix the problem despite the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Minister on the other hand did not buy into what was being said.

Before inspecting the Government hotel, the minister first launched the Italy cultural week at the Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Jinja, where he praised the Italian Government in helping to bolster tourism.

The Italian ambassador in Uganda Massimiliano Mazzanti, revealed that Italy is ready to collaborate with Uganda to boost the tourism sector and this will start by training Ugandans at the Hotel and Tourism Training Institute how to cook Italian food.

The Director of the Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in jinja Miriam Namutosi requested the Italian government to maintain the relationship between Uganda and Italy so as to train more Ugandans especially the Italian culture.
