Why was Teddy Nalubowa, alias Tracy manule bobiholic alone in the suspects’ dock in court yesterday? Why was she abducted alone, out of all the millions of Ugandans who celebrated the death of Elly Tumwiine? Who is organising the digital rights and online freedom movement in Uganda?
Why did she spend 13 whole days and nights in detention without trial, as if there was nobody to make a habius corpus application for her much earlier production in court? Why don’t those who rush to make these applications for powerful wealthy activists rush to do the same for poor outcasts in the ghettoes of Uganda?
Why was Teddy Nalubowa all alone in court with neither legal representation nor sureties? What happened to all the NUP lawyers who parade around as defenders of justice for the poor ghetto youths? Where were SG David Lewis Rubongoya, Seggona, Katana, Ssasi, Malende, and all the limelight seekers who rush to courts with cameras when there is political capital to be gained?
Where were all the busybody freedom fighters and foot soldiers when a female lowlife bobiholic needed them the most? Eh, don’t the NUP diaspora teams, bloggers, online TVs and loud mouths want to milk this story in order to remove the dictator? Don’t the basket carriers want to make more money by fundraising for Teddy’s bail, legal fees, prison visits and all the publicity campaigns around her? Won’t Sharon wa Bobi run to prison with sanitary pads and food for Teddy? Don’t Ssenyonyi and Waiswa see the big headline opportunities with Teddy? Don’t Mama Barbie and Fadha Bobi want to mine this story for political mileage?
Accused of offensive communication against dictator Yoweri Museveni, because of her online celebration when Elly Tumwiine died, Teddy Nalubowa stands in the suspect’s dock on behalf of all Ugandans who believe in deploying mockery of oppressive power as a weapon for the weak. Every champion of freedom expression and digital freedoms in Uganda must have rushed to Buganda Road Court to stand surety for Teddy Nalubowa. All opposition MPs, public media houses, civil society organisations, and freedom fighters in Uganda must be invested in this case. Her abandonment in court is an indictment on all of us. I demand JUSTICE FOR TEDDY NALUBOWA!
