ICT minister Judith Nabakooba has dismissed reports saying second deputy prime minister Kirunda Kivejinja is dead.
“Disregard the false information circulating on social media about the death of the Second deputy prime minister Rt Hon Alhaj Kilunda Kivejinja,” she tweeted Thursday.
“He is still alive though in ICU under care. His blood pressure and sugars under control.”
The 85-year-old has been admitted at Mulago hospital for two weeks now with breathing complications.
Some social media circles have been pronouncing him dead again and again.
“Please note that bad-hearted people are yet again circulating false news about the state of health of 2nd Deputy Prime Minister, Al Hajji Kirunda Kivejinja,” said the Office of the NRM chairman today.
“The senior citizen is alive and well, and on his way to recovery, thanks to Allah the Almighty.”

“Those circulating absurd information are called upon to repent and respect the privacy of Al Hajji Kivejinja.”
It added: “People of goodwill should keep him in their prayers.”
A source at Mulago told this website on Thursday that the Minister of East African Affairs was in a critical condition.
