President Museveni Renews AIGP Tom Magambo’s Contract as CID Director

Kampala, Uganda – In a move to enhance the efficiency of crime investigations in the country, President Yoweri Museveni has officially renewed the contract of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Tom Magambo as the Director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) for an additional two years.

The announcement was made earlier today by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, highlighting the President’s confidence in Magambo’s leadership amidst ongoing efforts to improve policing and security across Uganda. AIGP Magambo has served as the CID Director since his appointment in 2020 and has been credited with overseeing several high-profile investigations, as well as initiatives aimed at modernizing the policing process in the country.

In his statement, President Museveni emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership within the police force, particularly in tackling rising crime rates and ensuring public safety. “AIGP Magambo has demonstrated exemplary service and commitment to his role, and his continued leadership will be instrumental as we confront the challenges of crime in our communities,” the President stated.

Magambo expressed gratitude for the renewed appointment, vowing to continue his work in strengthening the CID’s capacity to respond to criminal activities effectively. He reiterated his commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice is served for all Ugandans.

As the country navigates through various security challenges, the renewal of AIGP Tom Magambo’s contract is seen as a strategic move to bolster the operations of the CID and enhance collaboration with other security agencies.
