President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni bestowed the Distinguished Order of the Crested Crane second class upon Minister of State for Information, Communications and Technology Hon. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo.
The award was presented during the Heroes Day celebrations, which honored the sacrifices of Ugandans who have contributed to the country’s freedom and development.
This was at the ceremony held today at Mpenja Church of Uganda Playground in Gomba district.

President Museveni, who also serves as Commander in Chief (CiC) of the armed forces, laid a wreath at the mass gravesite of over 100 individuals killed during the guerrilla war.
The Crested Crane is one of Uganda’s highest honors, recognizing outstanding contributions to the country’s development and progress.
Hon. Ssebugwawo’s award is a testament to her dedication and commitment to serving the nation as she recently transitioned from the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) to serve with the ruling party.
The Heroes Day celebrations brought together dignitaries, officials, and citizens to pay tribute to Uganda’s heroes and reflect on the country’s history and progress.
