Eleven political parties except National Unity Platform (NUP) have formed a new pressure group named the “People’s Front for Transition (PFT) aka “Twetaase” (we save ourselves).
The movement was unveiled Thursday morning at Jeema Offices in Mengo, Kampala.
The new “People’s Front for Transition” will be led by former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president Dr. Kizza Besigye as its national chairman.

He will be deputized by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate, Patrick Oboi Amuriat.
Members will come from the People’s government, FDC, Conservative Party (CP) and the Social Development Party, among other opposition political parties.
Some of those present during the launch included former MP aspirants Mike Mabike, Lubega Mukaaku and Ken Lukyamuzi.
The front aims to dislodge President Museveni’s government from power.
“If you miss on building knowledge for 15 million people you have missed out on 30 million years of development,” Besigye said at the launch.
According to him, Uganda is the only country in Africa at the moment with schools closed.
This means that it is the only country in the whole world because if it represents in Africa, it must be the only one in the world, he noted, adding that it is because Africa is always behind in everything.
In his speech, Amuriat said they will make sure the next election will not be just an election because “we know that it cannot remove the dictator”.
