MASANYALAZE: Muwanga Kivumbi’s Iftar Dinner Boosts His Political Momentum in Butambala

In a significant display of community engagement and political mobilization, National Unity Platform (NUP) Deputy President for Buganda, Hon. Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, hosted an iftar dinner in Butambala District two days to the international Eid celebrations.

The event, which took place on Friday evening, brought together NUP leadership and local supporters, energizing Kivumbi’s political ground in the area.

The iftar dinner was preceded by Duwa prayers, held in memory of Kivumbi’s deceased father.

The event served as an opportunity for NUP leaders to express gratitude to the people of Butambala for their overwhelming support of the party and its leader, Bobi Wine.

During the gathering, Kivumbi and other NUP leaders urged their supporters to remain committed to the party’s cause, driven by the hope for a better future for Uganda.

Regardless of the growing pressure Kivumbi was facing including allegations of betraying his longtime ally Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, the success of this event highlighted Kivumbi’s growing influence in the region, following his appointment as NUP Deputy President for Buganda in January 2025.
