KCCA Is Sick – RCC Anderson Burora Blasts Leaders

Kampala City Deputy Resident City Commissioner Anderson Burora has blasted government officials and other high profile people attacking opposition figure Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine’s philanthropic act witnessed at the start of the year.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) during the new year celebrations, shared a meal with street kids around downtown in Kampala, a move that has been criticized by some senior officers describing it as a cheap popularity stunt.

In response on the act, Anderson Burora has blasted those that have not chosen to see the bigger picture behind the act.

He says the reason why some them behave that way is because they have not associated with homelessness.  He futher describes KCCA as a sick institution as detailed in his statement below.

I’ve seen some colleagues downgrading the acts of Kyagulanyi sharing food with street/homeless people. Unfortunately, majority of those doing so, are not associated with homelessness.

However, this is as a result of having so many office occupants at @KCCAUG  whose duty is to come and be in office, draw salaries and nothing beyond that.

We’ve had a sick City Council for a long time. A City Council whose Community Development and Social Responsibility is at its weakest. A Leadership whose call for budgets are those with contractual obligations and not community Livelihood.

@KCCAUG given opportunity, needs Both Political and Technical Overhaul. This is something we are going to advocate for Certainly in the Next two Years. We must honestly have a Fresh Administration and not a Deals Administration.

City Councils Globally share meals, Provide Shelters or Resettles and Rehabilitates the homeless and Street kids by reuniting them with their families. You can hardly Find a supplementary budget in regard to that.

Reality dictates that we are HUMANS FIRST. I singularly don’t want to fault Kyagulanyi for finding lapses most especially that are Humane and takes advantage of them.

We need to redefine our purpose for the positions we hold and stop blaming those who remind us of our responsibility. That is the true definition of public service and leadership.
