The first batch of Ugandans who have been struggling with the worst conditions in the United Arab Emirates – UAE have returned through Entebbe International Airport on Saturday evening.
The team that included more than 11 people reached at the Airport on Saturday evening and were welcomed by a team of the National Unity Platform leaders, led by the Secretary General, Mr. David Lewis Rubongoya.
The return was made private, not to lure several of the state actors into jeopardizing the return journey orchestrated by NUP Leaders.
The returnees said, they were profoundly honored to have returned home after humiliations abroad that left them suffering after failing to get jobs in the United Arab Emirates.
“It was a night mare. We thank every stakeholder who helped us return to our motherland.” one of the returnees told this website.
Some of the returnees came home earlier today while others returned in the evening.
They will, this evening hold a meeting with the NUP President, Robert Kyagulanyi, prior to settling with their families.
Twenty (20) more people are also expected to return to the country in a few weeks time after glaring suffering from the United Arab Emirates.
NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi alias, a fortnight ago traveled to the UAE, through Dubai to hold a charity concert meant to raise funds for the suffering Ugandans in the Middle East.
Kyagulanyi was briefly arrested in the United Arab Emirates upon arriving at the Airport within the Middle East Country. He was later released after 12 hours of interrogation but his show canceled by Authorities in Dubai.
Well as there has been conspiracy about his UAE trip, the NUP President has further vowed to work towards the helping of all stranded Africans, especially Ugandans in UAE.
