Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda Saturday represented President Museveni at the coronation anniversary of His Highness King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru in Fort Portal city.
The President congratulated King Oyo and applauded the cordial relationship between government and the Kingdom in advancing cultural and development objectives.
“Congratulations to Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukiidi IV as he celebrates his 25th coronation anniversary. I join the people of Tooro and other Ugandans in wishing the king good health, a long life and prosperity for his subjects,” Museveni said.
The silver jubilee coronation anniversary celebrations (Empango) were held at Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal.

The 28-year-old King Oyo, ascended the throne at the age of three in 1995.
Due to the existing standard operation procedures to control the spread of coronavirus, it was a scientific celebration and thanksgiving that attracted about 200 people.
Bishop Reuben Kisembo of Ruwenzori Diocese asked the King to get a wife.
He said that as church leaders, they are advising the king to do so not under pressure.
“We are not pressurising you but we are advising you,” Bishop Kisembo said.
It is not the first time the King Oyo is asked to get a wife.
Last year, during the Empango celebrations, Fort Portal Municipality Member of Parliament, Alex Ruhunda asked him to marry.
