Chinese Communist Party Delegation Arrives in Uganda for Bilateral Talks with NRM

A high-powered delegation from the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) has arrived in Uganda for a three-day official visit to strengthen ties with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Led by Ms. Rao Huihua, Director General of the International Liaison Department of the CPC, the delegation touched down at Entebbe International Airport this afternoon.

The group was warmly received by Mr. James Tweheyo, NRM Chairman for Workers and Electoral Commission Commissioner, alongside Maj. (Rtd) Awich Pollar, Director of External Affairs at the NRM Secretariat.

The visit marks another milestone in the longstanding cooperation between the CPC and NRM, rooted in shared interests and mutual support spanning political, economic, and ideological domains.

According to NRM officials, the Chinese delegation will hold a series of high-level meetings with top NRM leaders and government representatives. Discussions will center on enhancing party-to-party cooperation, expanding development collaboration, and reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two countries.

“This visit reaffirms the strong and cordial relations our parties and countries have nurtured over the years. We look forward to productive engagements,” said Mr. Tweheyo.

Uganda and China have enjoyed robust bilateral relations, with China playing a significant role in infrastructure development and trade in Uganda. The ongoing CPC visit is expected to deepen this cooperation further, especially through political and diplomatic channels.
