A solemn requiem Mass for the late Buganda Prince, Godfrey Musanje Kikulwe, is underway at Lubaga Cathedral, as the Buganda Kingdom and the general public gather to honor his life and legacy.
The service has attracted a wide cross-section of mourners, including members of the Buganda royal family, princes and princesses, and chiefs of the Kabaka from various administrative levels. The large turnout reflects the high regard in which the late prince was held within the kingdom.
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, is represented at the Mass by the First Deputy Katikkiro, Owek. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo. Speaking on behalf of the Katikkiro, Owek. Kigongo described the late Prince Kikulwe as a committed and loyal son of Buganda who upheld the kingdom’s cultural values and served with dedication.
Senior clergy of the Catholic Church are leading the Mass, offering prayers for the repose of the prince’s soul and calling on God to grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family and the entire Buganda Kingdom.
The atmosphere at Lubaga Cathedral remains calm and reflective, marked by unity, prayer, and deep respect as mourners continue to pay their final respects to the late prince.
