Bobi Wine Leads Memorial Prayers for 2020 Protest Victims

Today, National Unity Platform leadership led by Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine held prayers at the party headquarters to honor the memories of over 150 citizens killed by security forces during the 2020 presidential campaigns.

The victims, including school children, lost their lives in nationwide protests that erupted after Bobi Wine’s violent arrest at a Luuka District rally.

According to the former Kyadondo East lawmaker, For four years, families of the deceased have sought justice, but their efforts have been in vain.

“In a disturbing turn of events, a team of lawyers investigating the massacre, led by Nicholas Opiyo, was abducted and prosecuted in December 2020. Despite President Museveni’s promise of compensation, the families have received nothing.” Bobi Wine said.

Bobi Wine reaffirmed his commitment to justice and accountability, vowing to continue the fight against impunity and oppression.

“Their deaths strengthen our resolve to create a free, fair, and just Uganda where such atrocities will never happen again without consequences,” he stated.
