Uganda’s biggest problem is ignorance and short memory (or memory loss).
You cannot discuss Museveni emotionally and yet the man has no emotions. A man without emotions can do anything and has no regrets.
He is very predictable as cunning, ruthless and unforgiving.
When you choose to take Museveni on, please undress. If you don’t he will undress you and embarrass. That is his character that he has never sought to change.
And fair enough, he will embarrass both his internal forces and external allies deployed in opposition at ago depending how he used you or how he will use in the future.
In the first photo (Observer Jan, 2013), the story was written by Edris Kiggundu and I think Sulaiman Kakaire if I recall well. I was a reporter in Parliament and followed events well. I was learning how Parliament works.
At the time, Kadaga was planning to recall Parliament to debate Cerinah Nebanda’s death.
Museveni and his family had been put on the spot for causing Nebanda’s death.
What was going on in Parliament at the time was insane. Kadaga was pretending to be neutral and independent.
At the time, Kadaga was sent her first threat through an FDC MP from the East.
MPs had collected enough signatures to recall the house. Then, Kadaga, after the threat, violated the first rule of Parliament to allow MPs to write to her formally to withdraw their signatures. That was a violation. Ugandans either don’t recall, were not following at the time or wilfully choose to ignore.
At least two people who were involved are now in Museveni Junta Cabinet and their day will come too. They will face the Music Kadaga is facing now.
But you see, if Kadaga has gone ahead with the motion to recall Parliament, she would have established the independence of Parliament. She chose buckle under political pressure and killed her ability to stand up against Museveni.
For Museveni, you only have one chance to stand up against him. You take it and thrive or coil your tail and he controls you.
Ask President Kizza Besigye and others including Amama Mbabazi.
In 2016, Kadaga was to be thrown out but she was unwell. She was serious sick and she was pardoned on ‘Compassionate Grounds’. Only Chimp Reports had the balls to write about compassion.
By the time Kadaga won Museveni’s endorsement in 2016, she was simply what Faridah Nakazibwe wrote about in 2020.
She went on to vigorous support amendment of Article 105 (2b) to remove age limit from the constitution. She thought she was buying herself a favour. But Museveni doesn’t forgive. He knew her time would come.
People died and others got disabled and wounded in Defence of that article 105 (2b). But Kadaga was looking at 2016 and Museveni was looking at Jan 2013.
And it has now come. Kadaga can only be Speaker of Parliament if Museveni wants it. Kadaga can only be Speaker if Museveni decides so.
Why? Because Museveni captured all the three Institutions of the Junta and all those purporting to work in them are on handcuffs.
And Kadaga knows that so well. So she will do everything for just public opinion but she knows her time in Parliament is over.
People can even try to pursuade her to contest as Independent. She will die in the movie alone. Some MPs have already seen that delegated power to Kadaga has shifted.
Kadaga had delegated power because Parliament is under the full control of Museveni. Even MPs are.
Btw, from January after elections to now, Museveni has already met almost 500 MPs. Almost every day he has been meeting MPs from both NRMilitary junta and Opposition. I know those he has met from opposition.
So Kadaga knows her time is over. If Kadaga meant good for Uganda, she had the opportunity to stop the rape of the constitution in 2017. She facilitated that rape hoping she would be rewarded.
In second photo (April 2021), Museveni talks about who runs the country. He said that while addressing MPs in Kyankwanzi. IT WAS A CODED MESSAGE ON WHO RUNS UGANDA.
Kadaga and her Parliament don’t run Uganda. Museveni does it.
So Kadaga will not be on ballot tomorrow. If she chooses to go on ballot as Independent, then Museveni will want to embarrass and humiliate her for good. On that matter, he is in charge.
Whether Kadaga goes on the ballot or not, it will be in the interest of Museveni and the outcome will be what he desires.
Lastly, you can’t fight Museveni from within NRMilitary junta. If she truly wants to stand up against the NRM MUSEVENI SYSTEM, she must resign her CEC position.
Otherwise, Kadaga betrayed Ugandans for Museveni and now Museveni has betrayed for Oulanyah.
When we tell people to FIGHT MUSEVENI and NRMILITARY JUNTA SYSTEM, we know him.
Now Museveni has exposed NRM CEC member Kadaga and exposed his allies in opposition who were claiming to support her.
If you expect Kadaga to be on ballot in Parliament as an Independent candidate against Museveni and win, dream on.
My suspicion is that she may not even show up at Kololo (either wilfully or by force). She will need to pick a phone and call Amama Mbabazi. He knows a thing or two about Museveni.
Her power was from Museveni and it’s gone. She will get it back when Museveni wants.
The next Speaker of Parliament will be Museveni’s choice, like he chooses who to go to State House.
Otherwise, the 1trn budget under her control is no more.
Good thing, she had helped to pass a bill that will keep her with current benefits except the Parliament budget.
Lest, I forget, after the age limit removal that Kadaga championed and she was proud of it, Kizza Besigye told her on TV: ‘You will be written on the walls of shame.’
