Baryamureeba: Being Honest, I lost In NRM primaries gracefully

Former Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof. Vanesias Baryamureeba has accepted defeat in the recently concluded ruling Nataional Resistance Movement (NRM) Party primaries.

Speaking while appearing in a televised interview, Baryamureba stated that though there is rigging, he lost the Ibanda municipality race.

“I have to be honest, I lost gracefully. I will give the person that won my manifesto” Baryamureba said.

The former presidential aspirant on commenting about NRM Primaries violence, he said that many of these guys knew had to rig in secret ballots, it became hard with lining up and they had to find a way of winning.

Baryamureeba adds that in Western Uganda, even people who didn’t win will hold the NRM flag and win in the elections provided they are endorsed by President Museveni.

“People can’t rely on the gun so much but people are going to rely on money all over the country. People will say President Museveni rigs elections. Everybody tries to rig somehow.” He noted.
