President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has scoffed haters celebrating the US travel restrictions.
Speaking in an Event at State House in Entebbe, Museveni affirmed that he will not lose sleep over the misguided sanctions.
The President said the country would continue to develop regardless of the American support.
“Uganda has come a long way, we have the right to exercise our sovereignty without any external influence. We are not desperate to begin going against our cultural morals and norms simply because of money. Uganda is a land of upright citizens and we shall not be intimated to leave what we stand for.” Museveni said.
Museveni said America is not Heaven for him to lose sleep over.
“Some foreigners are busy wasting their time, trying to put pressure on us. That If you don’t do this, We shall not allow you to travel to America, I Don’t want to go to America! I go to America as a Favour to them. Because I’m not lacking anything here in Uganda. This is the most conformable place on earth” Museveni added.
