Rwanda President Paul Kagame Saturday lauded Prof. Arsène Wenger whom he recognized as once a great coach for his beloved club Arsenal.
“He did a good job with the club,” Kagame said in the capital Kigali while addressing CAF Executive Committee meeting.
The Confederation of African Football Executive Committee Meeting was attended by FIFA President, Gianni Infantino and CAF President, Patrice Motsepe.

Former Arsenal FC coach Arsène Wenger who is FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development said that with the rapid development of the African Continent, football as a sport should be well placed for the shift.
Kagame challenged leaders of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to practice good politics and policies to drive the development of the sport on the continent and get around long-pressing challenges.
Here are his remarks:
We have a duty to football but we have a duty to Africa as well and to Africans. So to what do we aspire in delivering our mission as representatives, as leaders in football as a sport?

What do you think, you as individuals, that you should be looking at, or doing differently, for us to be able to deliver our mission of improving whether it is politics or particularly football on our continent. This is our task.
We can start doing what we need to do that is different, that is going to deliver on the progress, development, and management of football on our continent, and deliver better results for all of us who love football. And I mean the 1.2 billion people of Africa.
