Arsenal XI vs Brentford:  Takehiro Tomiyasu back from Injury

Arsenal could have a fully-fit squad to choose from for Saturday’s clash with Brentford.

Gunners defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has been struggling with a calf injury, but manager Mikel Arteta has revealed he is now back in training.

“We are all good. The doubt was Tomiyasu, which is still not perfect, but he has trained the last few days so he is in contention and we can use him, so that’s really positive,” the Spaniard said.

Whether Arteta rushes Tomiyasu, who has not played for a month, straight back into the team remains to be seen.

Fellow right-back Cedric Soares impressed at Wolves last week and Arteta may opt to slowly integrate Tomiyasu back instead.

Emile Smith Rowe is due to start, though, and come into the team on the left flank in place of Gabriel Martinelli.

The Brazilian is suspended after being sent off at Wolves last week during Arsenal’s 1-0 win.

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno has recovered from Covid-19 and will once again be with the squad this week.

Arsenal predicted XI: Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette.
