The NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon Richard Todwong on Sunday 23rd February 2025 commissioned the newly constructed NRM Party offices in Bugiri district, at a function attended by Hundreds of NRM supporters.
Built by Hon. Solomon Silwany, the Member of Parliament for Bukooli Central, the office was handed over to the NRM leadership during the ceremony held at Bukooli College Grounds in Bugiri.
Addressing the jubilant supporters, Rt. Hon. Todwong commended Hon Silwany and all who contributed to the construction of the office, describing it as an important symbol of the party’s presence and commitment to the people of Bugiri.
“Thank you, the people of Bugiri District, for your generous contribution in gifting your party with a brand-new office. Congratulations on your dedication and commitment to strengthening your party. A party office in your district is something significant. It is the foundation and the symbol that the party is alive in this particular district” Todwong said.
The Secretary-General rallied the party members to reflect on the NRM’s historical journey and its core philosophy of unity and development. He emphasized that the NRM’s ideology transcends religious, gender, and ethnic differences, focusing instead on addressing the common needs of all Ugandans. “Whether you are a Muslim or a Catholic, you need schools, roads, water, and health centres. Poverty does not discriminate, and neither should our efforts to fight it,” he stated.
The Rt Hon Todwong highlighted the NRM’s distinct approach to governance and development, which he argued sets it apart from other political parties. “The NRM stands for peace, stability, and development. While other parties blame President Yoweri Museveni for Uganda’s challenges, we focus on tackling backwardness, poverty, and illiteracy,” he said. He attributed the party’s continued electoral success to its commitment to these principles and its ability to deliver tangible results.
